The Smell Of This Bread Is Mouthwatering

Today I was looking for a recipe for easy to make bread. I thought a monkey-bread version of a savory bread would be awesome. I just googled "garlic pull apart bread". So many results with so little time to try them all. However I did settle down with one that was just great. It went splendidly well with the pot roast we had for dinner.

Cheese & Herb Pull-Apart Bread

Bread
2 cups bread flour (I used whole wheat)
1 cup all-purpose flour (just plain white)
1 cup warm water
3 T sugar
1 T yeast

Filling
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 T dried herbs of choice (or 3/4 cup fresh, chopped)
1/2 cup grated cheese
4 T butter, softened

Combine water, sugar and yeast. Let foam. Then gradually add flour. Mix thoroughly. Place in greased bowl. Let rise until doubled. Roll out dough on well floured counter. Spread with butter. Sprinkle with herbs, garlic and cheese. Cut into even squares. Layer in sideways in a well-greased loaf pan. (Looks like an accordian when through doing that.) Alternately you can roll up each square into a ball and place balls in pan. Let rise until doubled again. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Serve warm.
