The Name Says It All

Don't you love thick and chewy brownies? I sure do.  This recipe is one that Mom passed on to me.  I love how versatile it is.  You can add pretty much anything that goes with chocolate and it is just as good.  I have done peppermint extract and Andes/Junior Mints or just adding Rolos for the chocolate chips.  Have fun...just play around with your favorite chocolate combinations.

Irresistible Brownies

Brownie
1 1/2 sticks butter (I typically use margarine for this recipe)
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
4 eggs, beaten (I have even substituted FlaxSeed Meal)
2 t vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup chopped pecans (omitted)

Frosting (never tried it)
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 T cocoa powder
2 T butter, softened
1 t vanilla extract
milk

Melt butter in the microwave.  In a large bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter.  Add eggs and vanilla and blend until smooth.  Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and all the nuts.  Spread in a greased  9x13 pan.  Sprinkle with remaining chips.  Bake at 350 for 35minutes.  Cool.
For frosting: Sift together sugar and cocoa.  Add softened butter and vanilla.  Beat in milk until proper consistency.
