Do you have fresh berries....

If you have fresh berries and enjoy something cold and refreshing on a hot summer day, you have to try this recipe. It was a hit from the first time I had it. This is my great grandma's (Grandpa's mom) recipe.

Berry Whip & Custard
Berry Whip
1/2 cup white sugar
2 egg whites (best at room temperature)
1 cup raspberries (or any type desired - not sure about strawberries)

Whip egg whites until frothy. Add sugar and berries. Whip until stiff.

Custard
1/4 cup white sugar
2 T cornstarch
1/4 t salt

Mix well and add 2 cups milk and 2 egg yolks
Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Boil one minute. Remove from heat and stir in 1 T butter and 1 1/2 t vanilla. Chill with wax paper covering.

Serve with berry whip over custard (you can use vanilla or chocolate pudding).
